Birthday Boy!

Dear Grant,

I cannot believe you are 4 years old!!! You are such a strong, joy filled, outgoing, eager, funny, awesome, crazy little guy and you are now four. Wow time flies. You came into this world and I fell in love with you super fast. As your mommy I knew you before you even arrived and I knew you would be so calm. As a baby you were super calm and super easy. You are still great but calm is not how I would describe you! You have a zest for life that is unmatchable. With out a doubt your going to go so far in life because you have so much personality, drive, and desire. I love how you love life. You are my sweet little cuddly guy and you are super attached to me. I try and remind you often to remember and like me this much when you are older! This is going to be a big year for you!! You remind me all the time that you are a big kid now and you want to do more and more on your own. I am so proud of you. You work hard and play hard and those are great attributes! You are all mine and I am so, so, so lucky. G-Man you make me smile and I proud and so happy to be your mommy!

Happy Birthday Buddy!

Outisde

Most evening we are outside. The boys love to play baseball, ride bikes in the court, kick the soccer ball around with the neighbor kids, throw the football, get ice cream from the scary ice cream man, drive jeeps, play bubbles...you name it! We live on a great street with about 23 kids so there is always someone to play with.

Will

Dear Will,

You are so awesome. You are ten months old and on the move. In one weekend a few weeks ago you went from sitting to crawling, climbing, standing, and cruising along the furniture. You love to be with the action and are so happy that you can now get in the middle of everything. You have such a sweet personality. You love to play "no no", clap your hands, and give hugs. You have also learned "so big." You love to swing and be outside. I also think you were a daddy's boy but are turning into my boy after all. Sleeping through the night is going well and most nights you go about 11 hours. Eating is not a concern at all and in fact keeping you fed is a full time job!

We love you buddy. You are so good and we are so lucky you are here!

13.1 Miles

Brian and I did the Go! St. Louis Half Marathon in April. It was my first race after having Will. Although it was super hot and very hilly but a great race. I had forgotten how much I love to race. I am not super fast or super slow but I really just enjoyed the race. I was also glad to not be running the full due to the heat. Here is a picture of my running friends. I love my running friends so much and feel very lucky they are in my life. These are women I have run thousands of miles with and we have talked about everything. I admire all of them so much and feel so blessed to know each one of them.

PS...My time was a 1:55. Not bad!

Easter was good this year. The weather was perfect, the boys had on matching outfits (wonder how much longer I can get away with that?), we went to church, and had a great day. Easter really is one of my favorite holidays. I am so lucky that Jesus died for me.

Running

I love to run. I really, really love to run. I miss it when I am pregnant even though I run a little when pregnant but nothing is better than a good run on a great day...Okay a lot of things are better but in case you have not caught on or don't know me...I really do love to run!

One day Jack and Grant and I headed out for a mile run. Jack did GREAT! Grant had to be carried the last little bit. I love running with my boys! Can't wait for Will to join us!

It wUpdates

Life is super busy and does not show any signs of slowing down so here is an update for memories sake (for me).

1. Will is now 9 months old. He is AWESOME! He really loves us and is hitting the stranger anxiety stage. It is hard for him when strangers talk to him and he has this nervous laugh almost cry that he does. If I soothe him in time we avoid screaming. Some people think they can make it better by talking to him more but that really just makes it worse. He is weight is right at 22 lbs and he is wearing size 12 month -18 month. He takes an afternoon nap and lately has started taking another nap at around 5:30 for about 45 minutes. He then goes back to bed at about 8:30 until about 7 the next morning. He drinks 6-8 bottles a day and eats baby food, Cheerios, corn, and green beans. He is kinda crawling. Actually crawls backwards quite well and gets stuck quite well also. He has made a few attempts at forward motion but nothing major yet. He can pull himself up from sitting to half/standing to play with his toy table as well.

2. Jack is playing baseball and loving it. He has practice on Friday nights and games on Saturdays. It is coach pitch and a few kids from his school are on the team.

3. Brian and I ran the Go! St. Louis Half Marathon on April 11th. It was a new course and quite hilly. It was also quite hot. My time was 1:55 and Brian's was 2:10. Brian was not happy with his run but he needs to remember he has torn tendons in his ankle, it was hot, and it was quite hilly. I was pleased with my time but it was hard. My goal is to get stronger and build up a base run were it is easy to just run ten miles again. In other words more running to get back from having a baby. I really like the half's and want to focus on enjoying them but also getting faster. I think my days of full marathons are over. I won't say I will never do one but half's are so much easier.

4. Grant is doing great at preschool. He enjoys going and from what we hear he is doing well. He is happy the weather is good because it means we are outside riding his beloved jeep.

5. Easter was good. We went to church Saturday night, the Easter bunny came to our house Sunday morning, then we went to my grandma's, and then to Brian's parents.

6. Grant is still getting in our bed at night. Sometimes I stress about it but overall I don't really care. He is sweet, cuddly, smells good, and I love him so bring it on. The day will come much faster than I want it to when he does like me and I will miss these days so much.

7. Lately I am really trying to live in the moment. Little by little I am letting go of the need to have a perfectly clean house and everything in order. These are days I will not get back. They are days that will be over in the blink of the eye. Life is so short and I am really trying to not sweat the small stuff. I love being these boys mom. I love spending time with them, playing with them, getting them dressed, taking them outside...just the everyday stuff. Don't' get me wrong, I yell, get stressed, have to clean the bathrooms etc but I am really trying.

I will upload pics later - they are uploading to the computer now but I need to get a few hours of sleep before Grant crawls into bed. Ha!!
