Why Did You Do That?

A friend of mine at work read an article about how you should never ask your children "Why did you do that" when they do something wrong. IT gives them the opportunity to defend themselves and justify their behavior. So when they are mouthy or hit each other asking them why almost gives them permission to do it because they are justify this. That makes so much sense to me and I ask that question to my boys all the time. I need to stop and Brian and I talked about it and we are going to be each others helper to stop doing this!
