Sunday

Today was my 2nd Arbonne party. Only one person came. Katie was so sweet to bring a friend and still do her whole presentation for me so I could learn. It was a little disheartening because I invited quite a few people. Brian was so supportive though. He gave me a big hug when he got home and told me next time we will invite people from his work and since he is their boss they will come! Nothing like a little intimidation to get people to buy skin care products.

Onto more important topics!

I know you are all on the edge of your seats with the camera status...I still have not bought one but the plan is to go tomorrow because the sale ends tomorrow.

We took the boys to the arch on Saturday. My parents met us and helped me with Grant because we opted to not take him up. Plus my fear of flying falls in the same category as going up in the arch so Grant was my excuse. I am well aware I will one day have to go up for the experience with my boys and when that day comes I will take some drugs to mellow me out. My dad spent a good hour chasing Grant around the ever exciting Arch museum. Thanks Dad! My parents then had to head home so we went and ate lunch on the Becky Thatcher boat. Just as we sat down to eat a HUGE spider was spinning down towards Grants head. It was so close. Brian and I saw it at the same time. I could not get to Grant fast enough to whip him away and Brian in one swift motion used his hat to knock the HUGE spider away and into the river. I have never in my entire life seen such a large spider and it was inches from landing on my baby's head. Needless to say I spent the rest of the meal on lookout for its siblings. I could not relax and every fly that landed on me sent me back into a panic. We packed it up and headed home soon after. I spent the entire drive home in the back seat keeping Grant awake so that we could all nap when we got home. It worked and we had a good nap when we got home.

Today Brian ran 10 miles! Way to go Brian.

Happy Labor Day!

There Is Only Room For One Girl in His Life!

Jack wanted to draw Mrs. Heberlie a picture and he gave her a hug the other day. Can anyone say jealous mom?

Also Brian has told me I should not email or call his teacher yet for all the details of how things are going. We have had this conversation many times, me saying I want to email her for details and Brian tell me to relax for a little bit. Hmmm...the other night though Brian mentioned how he emailed the principal to see how things were going with Jack and to let the principal know that Jack is really warming up to Mrs. Heberlie.

So let me get this straight I can't email the teacher but Brian can talk to the principal about how things are going with Jack. Who needs to relax?

Can you tell we are back to school?

Well we are all back to school and work around here. Here is a quick recap of the last week:

1. Jack and Grant are back at Wendy's. Today Grant used the toilet for all his bathroom needs, slept on the cot, and had school time. Wendy said he did great! When we put him on the toilet at our house he screams like you are killing him. Jack is at Wendy's just in the morning.

2. Brian has been getting home a lot early this year. We are so excited.

3. We finally ordered our couches for the living room. It take us (really just me) a long time to make decisions that involve large sums of money. We painted our house last fall and it took me about a year to purchase the entertainment center and couches. Oh well...such is life! For those of you wondering I did not purchase this house. Sure my name is on all the paperwork but I was dragged their kicking and screaming! I also did not even go to purchase our last car and once tried to return my car after we brought it home.

4. My classes are really good so far this year. I am loving their attitudes, humor, and insight. Kids really are neat!

5. I am so lucky to work close to home and get off before Jack does. I race home, change my clothes, push an empty stroller to Wendy's house, pick up Grant, and then we go get Jack. A lot of moms walk with their dogs to pick their kids up from school. Jack has requested I walk Bruce one day to get him. Oh boy...Have you seen Bruce? I think I might have to bring the double stroller (a spot for G-Man and a spot for Bruce). If you are wondering why I have not mentioned Warner it is because he is afraid of his own shadow and all those kids walking out of school would not go over well.

6. We still don't have a camera. If you are wondering why I have not bought one yet refer to #3.

7. I am having my 2nd Arbonne party on Sunday. I have invited some neighbors and people from school. I am afraid no one will come.

8. I love this time of year. I cannot wait to take the boys to the pumpkin patch and wear a cute sweatshirt and a comfy pair of jeans!

9. We bought our first Christmas present for the boys today. It is this really cool football chair. Funny how it took me a year to buy couches and about 2 seconds to buy a football chair. These football crazy people that live in my house are sucking me into their world.

10. Send prayers to Esther...she has a job interview tomorrow and it sounds like a great fit!

Kindergarten

Today was Jack's first day of school. He did so great! Brian and I both left work and took him. We were able to walk him in the building, wait with him in line, walk him to his classroom, and wave goodbye. He was so brave (I was not but thankfully I had a pair of sunglasses and Brian). He would not admit to being excited but I think he was at least a little bit. I am always able to pick him up and Grant and I met him outside the building to walk him home today. On the walk I tried to get some info out of him but in true Jack fashion he was more annoyed with me and my questions. I did get him to tell me they played play-dough, colored a picture, and read a book. He told me he was bummed because the paper Mrs. Heberlie gave him to color on was not big enough to draw a football field. He was quite grumpy on the walk home and I finally asked him why he was so crabby. He told me he was crabby because "He had to do a lot of work today." I love it! That is so Jack! As the evening went out we ordered pizza to celebrate the first day of school and had some ice cream from the ice cream man! We also got to play outside before it was time for baths, movie, and bed. Brian and I laid with him in bed and he told us a little bit more about his day. It turns out he sat with two girls at his tables but he does not know their names, he had to tell Mrs. Heberlie his name twice, she asked him what his favorite food was and he told her chicken nuggets, he went to the bathroom in the school bathroom, saw his friends from our street in the hallway, and Mr. T the Principal came by the room to say hello while they were all sitting on the rug. We asked him if Mrs. Heberlie was a good teacher and he told us it was to soon to tell! Ha! I feel like he has grown up in one day! Crazy!

Jesus thank you for Jack, thank you for Mrs. Heberlie. Help him to make friends, be kind to others, and have a desire to learn. Above all thank you for Jack!

What do you think?

Do you think we have the next Michael Phelps on our hands with one of these two? The Olympic media keep showing pictures of Michael as a little boy...I can just see these on the screen in about 15 years!

Toilet

This morning I watched Grant take a drink of his milk, run to the bathroom, lift the toilet let and spit all the milk in his mouth in the toilet and then flush it! He then ran back to the kitchen at which point I put his milk away! Love this kid!

I'm Back

First of all a HUGE THANKS to Brian's brother Nick for fixing our computer. Brian downloaded something last week for school and we got a virus. His brother Nick is awesome with computers and came over this evening and it working great!! So thanks again Nick!

Today was our last day of summer break before school starts on Monday. The boys and I headed to the zoo. We saw the baby tigers (all 5 of them), elephants, chimps, sea lions, snakes and the bears. It was hot and crowded but we had fun. I also rented the double stroller from the zoo and it worked great. It was super easy for them to climb in and out of and it pushes great! We will be doing that more!

Our camera is still not working but I found out it is under warranty through Sony so we mailed it off. It will be a few weeks before we get it back but I am grateful that it was under warranty.

Jack had Kindergarten orientation the other day. Brian took off a few hours and we all got to go. Jack got to see his classroom, meet his teacher, and go on a school tour. The principal talked to the parents for a little bit and told us it was okay to cry which was a good thing because I already was. We also made sure to introduce Grant to the principal seeing as I am sure they will know each other well in a few years!

That is it for now!

I Had A Bad Day!

It was a rough day for Jack. He realized today that I was going back to work tomorrow and our summer is quickly coming to an end. There were a lot of tears, hugging, and more tears. It breaks my heart! I hate it! I laid with him extra long this evening and promised him I would wake him to have breakfast together before Lindsay got here. He has also declared that he will be spending the day in his room and not coming out until I get home. I guess that is his way of protesting. After he went to bed I wrapped up 5 little surprises and made a scavenger hunt for he and Grant to do throughout the day tomorrow with Lindsay. I hoping this adds some excitement to his day and entices him to leave his room. I have had such a great summer and have LOVED being home with my boys! I have cried about three times as well and am sure I will cry the entire way to school in the morning. Wish us luck!

Arbonne Party

I had my first Arbonne Party...It was fun! I was a little overwhelmed with the ordering on line but I think after I do it a few times it will get easier. I am excited about all the cool products I saw as well! Thanks to everyone who came and a BIG thanks to Katie Mohr for helping me.

Kindergarten

Jack: Mom when you take me to kindergarten I am going to hold your hand, walk inside, and when you drop me off I will turn around wave and go in my classroom. What will you do?

Mom (what I wanted to say): Vomit and then collapse on the floor in a puddle.

Mom (what I said): I will wave goodbye, tell you to have fun, and see you when it is over.

Prayers will be need for August 18th and Erin better have her phone on at about 12:45 for my drive back to work!

Mom

I wonder exactly how many times "Mom" is said in a day? Mom, Mom, Mom, Mommy, Mom, Mom, Mom...I know any Mom reading this gets what I am saying!

Thankful

Here are some things I am thankful for: (Sometimes when things get hectic and stressful it is important to remember to still give thanks)

1. Best Buy is paying for a new TV stand. We simply asked them to and they said they would. No arguing, no asking to speak to a manager. What a relief. (They put a big nick in our brand new stand when they delivered Brian's TV last week).

2. Lazy-Boy has ordered a new book shelf since the one they delivered was warped and they are refunding us for the bridge that does not fit on the entertainment center.

3. Grant's ear infection is finally starting to look better.

4. Jack is finally getting excited about kindergarten.

5. I get to get my hair cut and colored tomorrow.

6. A great summer home with my boys! Even when I am at the end of my rope, we are bored, restless, hot, or just plain getting tired of each other I would not trade the time I get off to spend with them. They are so fun and I love them.

7. Air conditioning and rain

8. Brian - who works so hard to provide for our family.

9. That Grant has over 50 words and has even a few times put two words together. It is so fun to be able to "talk" with him and understand each other.

10. Friendships!

Camera

My camera's memory stick broke and when I went to buy a new one I was told they no longer make a memory stick for this camera and I was out of luck unless I could find one on ebay. I called Sony because I thought Best Buy was crazy and it turns out Best Buy was right. So basically I have a 2 year camera and I am out of luck. There is a memory stick that they said might be compatible but I already bought that and it does not work. I am going to have Brian call Sony and see if he can figure this out with them. It does not seem right that I have a 2 year old digital camera that was over $400 and I am just out of luck. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! No matter what thought I need a camera soon! This kinda just caps off a frustrating day!
