Jack

This evening as I laid with Jack before bedtime we had some great conversation that I don't want to forget. He was asking about people Brian dated before me. I explained that I did not know their names but that basically Daddy dated them but they decided not to date anymore and then he met me. He asked if I had married someone else would he still be my son. I began to explain that Jesus always planned that Daddy and I would marry and he always knew that he would be our first son. Jesus knew long before we ever met and how cool is it that Jesus knows us and everything about us even before we do. I also told him that some where in this world a little girl is going to bed and Jesus has a plan for her life and that maybe it will be for her to meet you and marry you. Jack then responds..."Great...what if Jesus forces me to marry her and I don't think she is pretty?" Ha! This kid cracks me up. He also asked me if I thought if all the girls that Daddy dated before me were sad that he did not pick them to marry. So funny!

We talked for quite some time about everything from having to kiss at your wedding, marriage, Jesus knowing everything about our lives even before we do, what kind of dates he could go on someday, and how many days left of school before Christmas break. It is times like this (when I slow down) that I am reminded that I am so blessed that Jesus picked me to be his mom and He knew him before I ever did and knew that I would lay in a bed in this house and get to talk to him on this night.

1st Game

Jack had his first football game the day after Thanksgiving. The game was at CBC against Mathews Dickey's Boys Club. They won! Jack is number 6 and his jersey says "Picht" because we were borrowing it since he was not on the team the entire season. It was 24 degrees out and beyond cold but he had a blast. He is having fun and learning. They played their 2nd game today and won again. Way to go Jack. Proud of you!

Grant

Grant loves football just as much as Jack does. He wants to play so bad! He is loves TJ Moe and Steven Jackson. My favorite game that we get to play is when he pretends to be sTeven Jackson and I get to be Steven's mom!

Practice

Jack joined the O'Fallon Renegades 2nd grade tackle football team late in the season in order to try it out and play in a tournament over Thanksgiving weekend. The team had been practicing since mid August and Jack only had about two weeks of practice before the first game. One evening he and Brian worked in the back yard together.

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween. Jack dressed up as Bobba Fett (Star Wars), Grant was Darth Vadar, and Will was a baseball player. The boys got a ton of candy and it was not super cold.

Kids Parties

Both Jack and Grant had parties at their school for Halloween. I was able to attend both. We were told that we could not take pictures at Grants school so I did not bring my camera and then watch as every other mom took tons of pictures and no one told them to stop. AHHH!! Needless to say I will bring my camera next time. Both schools played games, had a snack, and did a craft. I am so lucky I get to leave and go to these parties.

Pumpkin Patch

We took the boys to the pumpkin patch (Thies Farms) a couple of weeks before Halloween. They had a blast. It was a little warm in the month of October and it was weird to go in our shorts but we did!

Family

So I don't forget...
1. Jack and Grant love to wear football jerseys right now.
2. Getting dressed is not pleasant if number 1on this list is not followed.
3. Jack had a wart frozen off on his foot a few weeks ago. He acted like he was going to die. It was awful.
4. Grant is still in speech but doing GREAT and making huge strides.
5. Will weighs about 29 lbs and wears a size 2t at 16 months old.
6. Jack and Brian drove to Kansas City last night to watch Jaguars play in state playoff game. They lost...bummer!
7. Warner and Bruce are still alive...boys think when they die we are getting two new dogs. Ha!
8. I have started Christmas shopping but still a ways to go.
9. Boys will be getting more jersey's for Christmas due to item number 1 and 2 on list.
10. So excited for a short week at school this week and then Christmas Break in a few more!! WooHoo!

Will

Dear Will or Wilson :)

My little guy is 16 months old. It has gone so fast! You are walking, climbing, babbling, and on the go at all times. You sleep great from about 8 at night to 7 in the morning and take about a 3 hour afternoon nap. You like to eat a lot and drink your milk. I wish you like veggies and fruit better but we are working on it. Your a great little brother and soak up the attention from your big brothers anytime they are giving it. Many days you are along for the ride but when we are home you really enjoy climbing on the play gym in the playroom, stacking blocks, or snuggling on the couch with your mommy or daddy. You are not a mamma's boy or a daddy's boy but rather prefer the person you have spent the most time with lately. You have gotten attached to two blankies which I love and carry them around to snuggle when you get tired. Putting you bed is a breeze, just a few songs, a short rock, and laid down on your tummy until morning. At the babysitter you have gotten a few bad reports for stealing food from the other kids at snack time which is quite comical to us and we are not super worried...yet! Will I love being your mommy and I love you. Your funny faces and laugh delight me on a daily basis. I love you sweet baby!

Grant

Dear Grant,

You are awesome and we love you so much! You are full of adventure every second of everyday and your antics never cease to amaze me. In the last weeks you have mooned the back yard; more specifically the dogs, declared you want to hunt penguins as a new Christmas Eve tradition, wrestled with your brothers every opportunity you get, fart on me, chased me with a booger, lick batteries, would not stop licking my shoulder, ask a million questions a day, pull my pants down, sneak into our bed at night, ask me to smell your feet, eat non stop...the list does not stop. You are an absolute JOY! I mean that very much. Even in the daily exhaustion of keeping up with you I am so blessed to know you and be your mom. You teach me to just live and I love that. You are in preschool and have just learned to spell you first and last name. You talk about your friend when you get home and have a little crush on your teacher Ms. Angie because she wears dressed. You are super attached to me and always have been. I am your mommy and you are my G.

Jack

Dear Jack,

Wow I love you! You are doing great in 2nd grade with Mrs. Cozzoni at Emge and at parent teacher conferences a couple of weeks ago you got a perfect report card. Amazing! You have a great group of friends at school and you talk a lot about Ethan, Luke, Gabe and many others and your antics on the playground. It sounds like football is how you spend your recess and I am not surprised. You still love to talk and ask a ton of questions on a daily basis and I really enjoy how you are getting into jokes and riddles and you are quite clever with ones you make up and the old school ones of "Mom spell CUP?" Ha Ha Buddy! Outside of school you played fall baseball, flag football, a short season of tackle football, and will start basketball in a few weeks. Fall baseball was a new challenge because it was kid pitch. I think you got hit by a ball as many times as you hit the ball. You made some great plays in the outfield and take your role as an athlete very seriously. Tackle football was fun because Dad coached. He really worked with you on being a good teammate, celebrating for others, and learning the game. You came a really long way on those character traits this season and nothing made me prouder. You also scored your first touchdown. When you scored it I cried because you have loved football since you came into this world. From it being your first word to hours spent setting up plays with skittles it is who you are. I will never forget that day. Even better you did it twice that game! You have just started tackle for a short season and tournament over Thanksgiving. Dad and I are not sure this is okay yet but we are testing out the waters for next year. You are learning a lot and although you were quite timid at first about tackling you have really stepped up to the plate. We continue to be impressed with your willingness to be taught. Quite a gift! Basketball is next and that will be new for us also. You love to play outside, inside, build army forts, read, look at football/baseball/hockey cards, "borrow" dads play station, and tournament your brothers. You always want help with your homework but you never need it...however cleaning your room is another story. Keep up the good work Jack. You make us proud every day!

Rams Game

My aunt gave us some tickets to the Rams game. They played the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams had not beaten them in five years but they won! Jack was super excited and it was Grants first Rams game. I really had a good time because so often I get left behind but my parents kept Will for us so I got to go do something fun with my boys! Grant fell asleep on the way home before we even hit the highway.

Football

Jack is playing flag football for the YMCA. Brian is the coach. The boys are learning a lot and having fun. We all go to the games on Saturdays. Grant and Will run around so I don't get to see much of the game. Jack has a blast. He is getting better and better each week. He has scored 3 touchdowns this season so far and when he scored his first one I cried!

Brownies

When we make brownies I always have some help cleaning up!

27.31 miles

I ran/walked a race on Sunday called Flatlanders. You could either sign up for the six hour or the twelve hour and the goal was to see how many miles or loops you could do in your chosen amount of time. My goal was to cover more than 26.2 because then I could say I did an ultramarthon. I did not train like I should have due to three little kids and a SUPER hot summer but I still got my goal! I ran consistently up until mile 21 and then I had to run/walk the rest. I always seem to hit that wall at mile 21 and since I knew I had time on my side I walked more than normal but I still got it done. I am doing this race again next year for sure! I have a new goal...anything more than 27.3 miles!
I have an awesome support system also! Brian ran ten miles with me off and on and brought my boys to cheer me on and run with me. My parents also came to watch my kids, cheer, and encourage. It really means a lot! I got to run a little with Grant, push Will one loop in the stroller while running, and Jack ran almost two full loops with me. A loop was 1.4 miles! I love that my boys get to see me doing something I LOVE and that even though I am the person who takes care of them all day long I am also a person with hobbies and I can do amazing things also!

Baseball

Jack is playing fall ball right now. It is his first season of kid pitch and more a real team - not the rec leagues that he had been playing in. He is learning a lot, getting to be a better player, and having fun. He is going to pitch for the first time at his next game!

First Day

This year Jack is in 2nd grade with Mrs. Cozzoni, Grant is in preschool 4 days a week and with Wendy the other day, and Will is with Wendy full time. Grant rides the bus to preschool and it picks him up at Wendy's around 9 and brings him back at lunch time. We are always sad to see the summer end but it is also good to get back to a routine. So far we are off to a great start!

Last Day

The last day before school started Brian was able to take off work and we took the boys to Swing Around Fun Town. We were able to do the bumper boats, play ski ball, ride go carts, and do the batting cages. It was a fun day and a great way to finish off the summer!

Scavenger Hunt

Each year I put together a scavenger hunt for the boys on my first work day back to school before the boys go back to their babysitter or school. We usually have someone come to our house on these days and it is always a little difficult for the boys after we have been together all summer. For memories sake here are the clues and prizes.

Dear Jack, Grant, and Will

What a fun summer it has been! We have done a lot of great things but most importantly we have been together! I have had so much fun with you every day playing, going to the zoo, pools, Destin, VBS, playing on the slide, beating Jack one time at Wii baseball and everything else. I will miss you today but know you are having a blast with Hannah. I am so, so, so lucky to be your mom and can't wait to see you when I get home.

Love you so much!

Mom

Pool

Due to Will's love of the sand and some seaweed the last two days of our trip we spent a lot of our day at the pools. All three boys are fish. Jack loves to swim, dive for dive sticks, and go on the lilly pad. Grant loves to jump in, jump in, and be thrown. Will love to try and swim on his own, sleep in his float, and sit on the side of the pool. We all love the lazy river and all the pools our resort offers.
