The Name

We finally decided on Will's name on the Friday after he was born and his middle name not until about an hour before we left the hospital and had to turn in the birth certificate. We wanted something that went well with Jack and Grant and had a meaning to it. The name Will has always been one we liked over the years. We realized a few weeks ago that Will was similar in meaning to Walter which was Brian's grandpas name who passed away earlier this year. On various websites we found Will to mean "strong" "leader" and "hearts desire." Walter on various websites meant "strong" and "leader" as well. We choose Ethan because it is a name we like but we were not sure we wanted it for a first name. I also found out that Ethan is the author of Psalm 89. As I read this Psalm I really liked the first part of it. It is a rather long Psalm but if you read the first parts of it I loved it. To put it into my words...it basically spoke of how God is great and we has humans are not! So true.

Dear Will,

You are out hearts desire and our strong little guy and we hope you grow to be a leader. We hope you grow to be an uncommon leader, one who understands that knowing Jesus is more important than anything. One who is kind to others, works hard, has a positive attitude, loves his family, and keeps things in perspective. We are so excited that you have joined our family. We love you more than you will ever know and look forward to loving you everyday.

Love,
Dad and Mom
